The Obermairhof

Our historic farmhouse was built about 500 years ago. Our farm in Valdaora has been in the family for generations. We have been renting out our apartments in the Val Pusteria since the 1970s, and they were renovated in spring 2024.

Our farm covers several hectares of meadows, fields, and forest. We produce the energy for our house ourselves, using wood for our woodchip heating system and generating electricity with our photovoltaic system.

Who we are

Farmer and head of the family Matthias is a farmer to the core, he drives the tractor every day and mixes the feed for our animals! Dunja is the good-hearted soul of the house and is always there for you! And then we have our sons Elias and Benjamin!

Our cows, Lotta, Paula, and the others

In addition to our apartments, our dairy cows are our pride and joy. We are a fully operational farm with dairy production. Our cows are milked round the clock by our milking robot. Depending on the season, you can see us bringing in the hay, ensilaging the corn, or chopping firewood. There’s always something to discover. Our life is everything but boring!
